Our relationship with the Méndez Ortiz family began in 2013, when Ladro first visited their coffee farms on a direct sourcing trip. More than a decade later, we’re proud to continue sharing their exceptional coffee.

Grown in rich volcanic soil at elevations between 1,300 and 1,500+ meters, this Red Bourbon coffee benefits from warm days and cool nights that allow the cherries to ripen slowly, developing remarkable sweetness and clarity.

Over the years, our partnership with the Méndez Ortiz family has helped support projects in Ojo de Agua, including improvements to the local school, construction of a soccer field, and efforts to combat coffee leaf rust.

We are thrilled to feature this special gem from our friends from El Salvador.  Generations of knowledge and care from the Méndez Ortiz family result it a clean cup, with balanced fruity sweetness and medium body.
